The aim was to develop and evaluate the initial impact of oral health educational program among 15 year old children. Oral health education is important objective in inculcating healthy lifestyle practice to last for a long time. The aim of this four week study was to assess impact of oral health education on the subjects. During this four week program, a questionnaire survey and complete mouth examination was done using Gingival Index (GI)1 and Modification of Plaque Index2. In the present study, at baseline the mean gingival index score was 1.45 and plaque index score was 0.957. After 4 weeks there was a marked reduction in the gingival index score by 32.4% and plaque index score by 18.2%. These scores were statistically significant with p< 0.001. Tooth brushing monitory chart played an important role in assessing the brushing habits.

The following conclusion could be drawn from the research work carried out from the project: Osmotic tablets for acyclovir could be successfully prepared with different osmogens in different concentration and could be coated with semi-permeable polymer like cellulose acetate for the release of the drug. In vitro release studies were carried out for all formulations to quantify percentage cumulative release of drug. Based on the drug release profile suitable formulation was selected. The Formulation no-7 containing drug and NaCl with 1% has shown 100.1% ofdrug releasein 24 Hrs and the drug release followed in zero order kinetics. Formulations of core tablets shown increased drug release rate with an increase in osmogen concentration. There is a good scope for the development of elementary osmotic pump system for this drug.
Turmeric (Curcuma longa) may be a therapeutic plant broadly utilized and developed in tropical districts. We have therefore investigate the effects of either 15mg/kg B.W. doses of curcumin on the levels of biochemical parameters in male New Zealand White rabbits. Animals were orally given 15mg/kg B.W. doses of curcumin. The tried measurements were given to rabbits each other day for 6 weeks. Treatment with curcumin caused significant (P < 0:05) decrease in the concentrations of glucose, plasma asparatate aminotransferase (AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activities, gamma glutamyl transferase activity (ɣ-GT), Plasma thiobarbituric acid-reactive substances (TBARS) and bilirubin. Contrariwise, the total protein (TP) was significantly increased in plasma. Concentrations of urea. But, creatinine, cholesterol, triglycerides (TG), low-density lipoprotein (LDL) and very low density lipoprotein (VLDL) were significantly decreased, while high density lipoprotein (HDL) was increased. The aim of this study was to evaluate the potential of increasing levels of turmeric powder as phytogenic additives on serum biochemical metabolites and antioxidant enzyme activities in growing rabbits.

In this study, we investigated the possible protective role of the ginger extract in reducing hepatic and renal toxicity of cyclosporine A in rats.Levels of total protein and albumin had a significant decrease after treatment with cyclosporine A compared to the control. Levels of ALT, AST, and LDH increased significantly after treatment with cyclosporine A compared to the control. Results showed that ginger extract decreased the toxic effects of cyclosporine A.
